It’s 2014 and the first day of the new year! Millions of people around the world resolved to improve their body and mind, starting today.

Losing weight and getting fit is a challenge. If it was so easy, we would all be fit and toned all the time!

Getting into better shape starts with awareness about what your body looks like and feels like today and what you want your body to feel and look like in weeks, months and years to come.

There are tons of resources out there to help you get started on your fitness plan! I created a little plan for myself to start adding in my favorite types of workouts. I found these on Pinterest and Facebook and love them because I can print them out to hang on my wall for motivation or leave on my phone for quick reminders. Each workout is challenging enough to start making a difference in your body. Yet, they are simple enough to remember and maintain.

I LOVE the abs on fire workout. I finally found my abs again (underneath that special place I keep those gingerbread lattes). And I am obsessed with squats and calf rises. How else are we to have strong legs and buns for wearing sexy stilettos!?

Add your favorite workout routines or resources in the comments below!

And remember, one step at a time 🙂

Are you one of 45% of Americans who will be making a New Year’s Resolution tonight?

You are 10 times more likely to achieve your goals than your counterparts who don’t make one. (University of Scranton).

Whether your goal is to get fit, quit smoking, blog more or spend less, it’s important to think about how you can maintain your resolution-and what kinds of support you will need to be successful.

I like to spend this time planning out my upcoming year and deciding what I would like to prioritize and what I will need to pursue my dreams. For me, its less of a resolution and more of a time to reflect on my success and learned opportunities from the previous year and to continue to dream big for the next year.

Be part of the 71% who maintain their resolution beyond 2 weeks! Think of your resolution as a micro-business plan.

What is your goal? Your vision for this year?

How soon do you want to attain your resolution? And, what is realistic to achieve?

What do you need to accomplish your resolution?

Who do you need?

And remember, this resolution is for you!. So choose something that really matters to you.

Have fun making your New Year’s resolution work for you!

At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don’t really expect it. It’s like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it’s not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath away.
